Wi-tribe, an internet service provide(ISP) in Pakistan is ready to deploy first LTE Advanced(LTE-A) network in five major cities. It announced the launch of Pakistan’s first high speed internet by May 2017. According to sources, wi-tribed has joined hands with Huawei for successful deployment of this fast internet, otherwise known at 4.5G. After complete installation of 4.5G, it will become first operator in South Asia and the Middle East to install such technology on high spectrum of 3.5 Ghz.
The LTE upgrade will delivery speed up to 100Mbps per household in a few months time. By the end of 2018, the speed will elevate to 200Mbps per household. Wi-tribe plans to take the speed limit to a more advanced level – as Customer Premises Equipment(CPEs) will be provided. Once CPEs are provided, it plans to raise the speed limit to 400Mpbs per household by the end of 2019.
HB Group decided to inject $50 million when it acquired Wi-tribe from National Telecom Company. The current invesment into LTE is a long run plan.
Chairman of the Wi-tribe supervisory board said:
“Within six months time, over 1 Million households will have access to the
fastest wireless home broadband service in Pakistan using the most advanced
technology currently available anywhere in the world. In practice, this will
mean a revolution in terms of the amount of data Wi-tribe can offer its
customers, but more importantly, it will mean lightening speeds of up to
100 Mbps for a single user household.”
He also said:
“This type of speed is unheard of in our industry and if you couple that with huge GB volumes available, we will be able to offer the best internet packages in Pakistan in terms of speed, volume, reliability and value for money.”
Pledging promising future for the company, Malik said that this is only the start. Once this is implemented, the company will flourish. Malik also added that they plan to enter the entertainment industry thereby offering live TV to its customers
